About Kevin’s Presentation:
One of the claims of S1000D is that it can be easily applied to legacy data. Recently a small team from Boeing Defence Australia have been involved in a Scoping Study to determine the feasibility of converting ATA iSpec 2200 manuals to S1000D.
This insightful presentation describes the real time approach taken by this team to convert over 8,000 individual maintenance tasks contained in 26,000 pages of an ATA iSpec 2200 Aircraft Maintenance Manual to S1000D.
The presentation will highlight both the similarities and the differences between the S1000D and ATA iSpec structured data including the break out of chunks of ATA data into Data Modules, the re-usability of those Data Modules, the creation of the DMRL, the assignment of DMCs and the mapping of the ATA Data to the S1000D Procedural Schemas.
