ADG wins QLD Premier’s Small Business Exporter of the Year Award

Defence and Aerospace software specialist Absolute Data Group (ADG) has been named Queensland’s Small Business Exporter of the Year 2009. Competing against 32 other leading small businesses, ADG was recognised for its global expansion efforts over the last four years.

Headquartered in Brisbane with partners around the world, Absolute Data Group has provided mission critical technical publishing and information management solutions for more than twelve years. Their software enables Defence, Aerospace and Heavy Industry to create, manage and leverage information that is vital to the operation and maintenance of their mission critical assets.

Trade Minister Stephen Robertson said Absolute Data Group had excelled in building and servicing overseas markets over the past year, despite difficult economic circumstances.

“I am pleased to announce Absolute Data Group as the winner of the Small Business category in 2009. It is important to remember that our smaller businesses are the backbone of our economy, where most of the jobs are created and that it is possible and profitable for them to spread risk and stabilise their incomes and operations by accessing and servicing overseas markets, even in difficult times,” Mr Robertson said.

CEO of Absolute Data Group, Tammy Halter, said the award celebrated years of hard work and a commitment to extending their product and services reach globally, even during a financial crisis.

“It was largely through our exports that we were able to continue to move forward as a company over the past few years,” said Ms Halter. “Our key exports are in North America and New Zealand and an added benefit is that our local customers appreciate our exposure and experience that comes with working on overseas customer projects”.

Absolute Data Group is one of only a handful of companies worldwide that produces robust software specifically to output SCORM and the ASD S1000D Data Format, used by most NATO companies.

ADG’s staff are supported by a network of reseller and technology partners in Singapore, the UK, and North America. Their customers are the leaders of industry, from Boeing, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems and CHAND, to the US Navy and Air Force, Australian Aerospace and the Australian Army.  Australian Aerospace, for example, uses Absolute Data Group’s R4i software to provide standards-compliant interactive technical manuals, which can be accessed by field staff when and where they need it.

“It’s very rewarding for Absolute Data Group to win such an important award. Our technology is now being used around the world for very important projects,” said Ms Halter.  “Our customers know that they are benefiting from systems that are cutting-edge, cost-effective and quick to implement.”

“As the US Air Force continues to expand its use of the R4i Viewer on the General Atomics Aeronautical Systems – Predator B/MQ-9 Reaper Project, it is expected that by mid-2010, there will be over 2000 Air Force personnel using the R4i IETP,” said Ms Halter.
