QLD’s top woman in technology takes out Telstra innovation award
Tammy Halter started her business ten years ago with a mere 500 dollars. Now the CEO of Absolute Data Group (ADG) has picked up the prestigious award for innovation at the QLD Telstra Business Women’s Awards.
The announcement yesterday topped off an extremely successful year for Tammy, who has taken the world by storm with new mobile marketing software, Broadcaster.
Speaking at the awards luncheon at the Sofitel in Brisbane yesterday, Tammy acknowledged the challenges of building a business in a predominately male-dominated field.
“I want to encourage women everywhere to believe that they truly can do anything…and not to take “no” for an answer,” Tammy said.
The inspiring young businesswoman started in stockbroking at the age of fifteen and then joined the Navy, eventually recognising a need for better software platforms for technical documentation in the defence and aviation industry.
Today, Tammy’s company ADG provides world class software to companies such as Virgin Blue, Boeing, Australian Defence and General Atomics (a provider to the US Air Force).
